Eliška

  • What is home?
    • Home is, I guess, a place where you feel comfortable and where you can do and say whatever you want.
  • What is God for you?
    • That’s a good question. For me God with G in capital is God in a monotheistic religion.
  • Can you tell us about your happiest place?
    • My happiest place varies depending on my mood, weather… One day I prefer calm and not too crowded place such as café, library or parks. Sometimes else it can be a place where I can participate on something what makes sense for society or nature.
  • What is your biggest dream?
    • Well, currently I do not have any “biggest” dream. But I wish to travel to Africa, finish my studies and more smaller dreams.
  • What is your favorite childhood memory?
    • When I was little I loved visiting my grandparents’ cottage. Our grandma taught my sisters and me how to cook, bake Czech pie and knit scarfs. Grandpa, as an experienced mushroom picker, used to take us to the forest where we learnt about different kinds of mushrooms and picked forest fruits.
  • When was the last time you said I love you?
    • Hmm, few weeks ago – to my beloved dog Jessie.
  • What would you like to be remembered for?
    • For me it is important to do something what makes sense to me and what makes the world better. By this I mean more tolerance and understanding, even realization of our impact on the Earth and so on.
  • What makes us humans?
    • We were discussing this topic at school and it is very hard to say! Anyway, we arrived at the conclusion that it is human dignity.
  • What is your profession? How’d you end up in volunteering?
    • I am still a student but I like doing after school activities. I have been volunteering since three years and from that time I have tried many kinds of volunteering. And last year I see that I like working with foreigners and helping people.
  • What is your favorite hobby?
    • My favorite hobby is reading books, doing yoga and barefoot walking.
  • Where do you look for news?
    • Well, I do not look for news every day… Sometimes I watch interviews on DVTV.
  • What was the last book you read?
    • I read a Czech book called Zajímavosti ze světových dějin 1 (“Interesting History World Facts 1”) written by Stanislava Jarolímková.
